- The insane millionaire, Mr. Boddy, has died in his large mansion and seven eccentrics are invited to hear the reading of his will by his attorney, Monsieur Brunette. They are Professor Plum, Mr. Green, Sergeant Gray Mrs. Peacock, Madame Rose, Miss Peach, Miss Scarlet, and Colonel Mustard. Boddy has two employees, Didit the Butler and Mrs. White, the maid. The will says Boddy's estate will go to whoever can kill off the others and survive at the same time. In the course of events that follow, Green and Plum steal White's diary to blackmail the other guests, also learning that White had an affair with body and gave birth to Gray (they are both color-blind). Miss Scarlet is a foreign spy and Mustard is her accomplice, who murdered his brother and has a magnetic plate in his head. Plum murdered his wife, Boddy's legitimate daughter, with poisonous floor wax, and Madame Rose, Boddy's sister, is a psychic who treats her teddy as a son and contacts a seance with some of Mrs. Peacock's many husbands, all of which she murdered. Mr. Green is a mobster on the run and Gray is as insane as his relatives and in fact an escaped convict. Brunette is not really French but a con artist. Another will is found that says Boddy's child will get the money, and Peach claims she is Boddy's daughter. She is actually Brunette's foster daughter. Chaos ensues from thereon.—Mr Boddy
