After months of waiting for a decision on the drama’s fate, ABC Family has cancelled Bunheads. I’m disappointed but at least now there’s no chance of the show wearing out its welcome. On the bright side, Deadline says this means the channel is free to go ahead and renew its freshmen series Twisted and The Fosters.
Something something, last chance for a Waiting for Godot pun.
After announcing guest roles for James Franco and Adam Pally, TV Guide reports that The Mindy Project has booked Kris Humphries for a guest-spot. I guess they can’t all be great news.
Over at The New Yorker, Emily Nussbaum defends the legacy of Sex and the City. The movies and that series finale may have worked to make us forget, but at its peak, it was a show that helped HBO find its voice and challenged the static romantic comedy.

The holiday hiatus from some of your favorite television shows is finally over, and that means a lot more new episodes from here on out! With the new year comes some new beginnings, and that's exactly what we're hoping for. Can you blame us? After all, we are the ones who rearrange our nightly schedules just to see if so and so hookups this week, or if a certain pair of lawyers will look as dapper as always.

Though all the shows listed below are definite favorites, there's changes that need to happen in 2013 for some. From The Office to Revenge and Suits, a change doesn't necessarily mean there's something wrong. Sometimes, it's just a storyline that we've been dying to see. And at other times, it's a forbidden affair that we can't help but root for week after week.

This insightful comedy about the hopelessness of love is every inch a ‘fashion film’, both in terms of narrative and thanks to costume designer Dayna Pink’s enviable parade of menswear trends and elegant suiting.
Crazy, Stupid, Love (directed by Glenn Ficara and John Requa) stars Steve Carell as Cal Weaver, a middle aged man who has forgotten how to be a man and Ryan Gosling as Jacob Palmer, a bar culture player who helps Cal regain his self respect. Clothes in the film are prioritised over the man. They denote what we wear reflects how we evolve. Or in the case of Cal during the very first scene, how we devolve and are generally the last to notice. As the opening cuts from one couple playing footsie to another,...

Last Tuesday night, two of my favorite series returned with new episodes – Justified on FX and White Collar on USA. Both in the same time slot, 10 Pm Est. This is why TV recording equipment was created – so you no longer have to choose.
Mary and I recorded both but one we watched as it was on and the other we watched the next night. We’ll get to which one was watched “live” but first let’s talk about the shows themselves.
Is one show better than the other? Yes, but both are generally well-written, directed, and acted. And the premieres both were good examples of the two shows.
White Collar deals with a thief, con man, and rogue named Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) who has been sprung from prison by the FBI guy who caught him, Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) to help solve crimes. Neal’s on parole so...

The Screen Actors Guild announced its nominees Wednesday (December 14) for the best performances of the year in both television and film. The SAG Awards are the only ones with actors choosing among their peers to select the winners, so they are considered to be among the highest honors in Hollywood.
With the Golden Globe nominations arriving Thursday and the Academy Awards looming in the near future, everyone is eagerly searching for some hint of how things may shake out on Oscar night. Among the SAG nominations, there are plenty of the familiar names that have garnered awards attention this year, but also a fair number of surprises.

Chicago – The announcements keep coming for award season winners and nominees. Today, we have the list of nominees for this year’s Screen Actors’ Guild awards. The awards celebrate the best male and female performances in film and television, leaving out awards like Best Picture or Best Director. “The Help” leads this year’s films with four different nominations.
The nominees for the top prize of the night, Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, are the casts of “The Artist,” “Bridesmaids,” “The Descendants,” “The Help,” and “Midnight in Paris.” Curious not to see “Moneyball” or “My Week with Marilyn” on this list as both films have two individual nominations for top acting awards (Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill for “Moneyball” and Michelle Williams and Kenneth Brangah for “Marilyn”).
The list of curious nominees and snubs doesn’t end there. Demian Bichir has been nominated for Outstanding Performance...

Will Matthew Morrison convince Emmy voters that his work in Glee is funnier than what two-time winner Alec Baldwin has done for 30 Rock? Will Tony Shalhoub earn a final golden statue for his role on Monk? We found out which episodes the actors — and supporting ones — are submitting for consideration in the comedy categories. Nominees send their episodes to a select group of TV Academy members/volunteers, who then screen the submissions at home. Ballots are due back to Ernst & Young by Aug. 17; the Emmys will air Aug. 29. See which episodes the male nominees submitted after the jump.
