Astrya Richard, the Louisiana born author of "Family Secrets" was an extra in this film.
Grand L. Bush's performance in the movie was so impressive that many of the local extras thought he was a real minister and invited him to preach at their church. In preparation for the role of the Reverend he committed to memory the entire chapter of the New Testaments's Luke 15.
