Featured review
The show features a wide variety of characters played by only a handful of actors, who are deliberately made look ridiculous to achieve the funniest outcome. This has been made possible using excessive wigs, moustache and relatively unusual clothing. In addition to costumes, different tones of voices are used to characterise the regular figures of recurring jokes. Regular viewers find it easy to recall even the oldest of jokes since the actors have managed to form a recognisable outfit and acting style for almost every one of them. The jokes themselves don't have a clear category, but they often revolve around matters that the Finnish audience can easily relate to. There's some sort of music feature in almost every episode; the musicians are usually the actors themselves playing songs of weird and amusing nature. Kummeli has created many catch-phrases which many Finns are familiar with, especially younger people often find these phrases and the series itself amusing.
