At the end of the movie, when the camera pans away from Dave (Bray Poor) to reveal that he has been speaking to a guy at the bar during the movie and not to the audience, that guy at the bar is actually the film's writer-director, Neil Turitz.
There are several movie references in the film, most of which are acknowledged. One that is not is when Marty (Ron Livingston) tells Nina Cohen (Cara Buono), "You want to see God laugh? Make a plan." Nina responds, "I like that movie." That line is from the film, Kicking and Screaming (1995), which starred Cara Buono.
