These two reel comedies, made early in the celebrated Mexican comedian's career, are quite polished for small budget productions. I won't venture an opinion on the Spanish language verbal material but the physical comedy of the match finale is quite nicely handled - plausible.
Outside the Billiard Hall, Cantinflas and his buddy get involved in an argument with the boxer, who is giving his lady a hard time. Cards are exchanged but when the seconds turn up (with a stretcher) our hero opts to settle the matter in the ring - with an unpredictable outcome. "Arriba Cantinflas!"
Quality on the Festival de la Comedia disc is poor.
