I saw "One Hit Wonder" at a film festival in the south and really enjoyed it. It gave me that same kind of absolute truth amusement that one finds in films like "Swimming with Sharks" or "The Big Picture" with a touch of real life blurs with television, serial killers and the media (reminiscent of "To Die For" or "The Truman Show"). I found his grasp of fame, our voyeuristic society and most of all Hollywood to be right on track. And the last I should definitely know about as unfortunately I am very much a part of the machine. Very good job on his part that he could make me laugh at myself.
I had the opportunity to catch ONE HIT WONDER at the Indian Summer Film Festival at the Kiosk in Glendale this summer. A fine spoof of boy bands. Although I can't remember their hit song's title, I can't forget the words: And baby when you cry, you have tears, so do I, isn't that wierd. Check it out if you have the chance.
