It had been YEARS since we last saw this concert, and split up with very long breaks during a public television fund-raising night. Seeing again straight through was a treat.
The three tenors performed a range of famous and beautiful arias solo, and then combined to treat the audience to a bit of Broadway with selections from West Side Story and Cats.
Next came some Neapolitan classics, ending with a double dose of Oh Solo Mio. On the second time through they performed their enchanting, humorous, and famous string of "one upmanship". Wonderful.
The two highlights of the concert are, of course, both Nessun Dorma, first Pavarotti's famous performance, and an encore with all three taking part.
You don't have to be an opera fan to love this concert, just someone who loves great music and three of the best voices of the 20th century.
