These occupy the west side of Central Park West between 72nd street and 73rd street. Thi is where, at just before eleven pm on the night of Monday the eighth of December, 1980, one Mark David Chapman (1955 - ) shot the former Beatle John Winston Lennon (1940 - 1980). Mr. Lennon was pronounced dead at 11 : 15 pm at Roosevelt Hospital by Dr. Stephan Lynn.
