It's too bad that great shows like this one and other great sci-fi shows are tossed to the side by executives who don't or won't give them a chance to catch on like the X-files did. This one went the same way that Firefly, Surface and Invasion did and I, personally, think it STINKS! I realize that the execs for "free" TV have to make sure that the shows are going to attract advertisers in order to pay for them but, dang, it gets very frustrating to have it pulled just as you're really getting into it. Does anyone else out there feel the way that I do? Please post your comments here or on the Firefly section of IMDb. Thanks!
I tremendously enjoyed this show, and in spite of its innumerable comparisons to The X-Files, I would argue that Strange World was much more effective in the sense that we were not regularly dealing with aliens and otherworldly fantastic stuff, but very down-to-earth, manmade scientific and ethical issues. The writing and concepts are top-notch, as is the acting, and it proceeds at a relentless pace with plenty of action thrown in, while The X-Files could get weighted under Mulder and Scully's moral and personal issues and slow-moving plots. I highly recommend it for some fun, thought-provoking scientific and ethical conundrums we face as humans and the resolution thereof. And oh! Kristin Lehman is very easy on the eyes as well! Couldn't hurt all that much :)

It is a shame this show couldn't last more, it was pretty interesting, and by the time it was produced seemed to be an improved option for x-files but focused on science instead of alien stuff, the acting was pretty good as well.
As far as I remember the majority of episodes were thrilling and well developed, I even thought they were more but actually they did just 13, notwithstanding, enough to get a fan of the series. I hope I can get some day the DVD and watch it again just to have a good time.
I don't understand why the best TV shows get always cancelled, firefly, drive, just to mention some of them, It doesn't make any sense.

I consider myself fortunate in that we saw almost all the episodes in SA. Outstanding concept, well mixed with drama, mystery, excitement and, best of all, a marvellous human emotional slant.
Contrary to what studio executives may think, we really do need a continuation of this series.

Strange World recently started airing in Finland, naturally we're seeing all the episodes (though I think the airing order of the episodes is messed up, that's a bit strange). It's a very good show, so I was surprised to find out how it was pulled off the air after only three episodes aired in the States. Sorry, guys. It's interesting that ABC also pulled the plug on another show I liked, "My so-called life", starring Claire Danes. That was a great, clever show, too.
Why was it canceled so suddenly?I know thats how T.V.is today, but it was just "picking up speed".
This show is an interesting take on the classic sci-fi conspiracy tv show. the character of Paul Turner played by Tim Guinee is very well played. Because the show was/is written by the "X-files" gang it would have been very easy for Guinee to turn Turner into a Mulder-like character,(Mulder and Turner are written virtually the same) however Guinee saves his character and makes him much more realistic. Guinee turns his character into a man searching for a way to avoid being trapped between to organizations who are keeping the truth from him instead of into a raving maniac who sees little green men in the bushes.(sorry Mr.Duchovny) All in all this show is far better than I even dreamed it could've been, why it was cancelled to begin with is a mystery to me but now that it's back it's great. Oh and by the way it's on The Sci-Fi channel, you'll have to check your listings though.
My parents and I saw an advertisement for this t.v. show on SciFi. I vaguely remembered it airing a few years ago on broadcast. They showed about two or three episodes, then shelved it. Apparently, SciFi is picking it up and making new episodes, or just airing the previously filmed ones. Either way, it is a very interesting show. I am also an avid fan of the X-Files, so I am very familiar with the content and the premise. If you like action, drama, and a little bit of the paranormal, tune in to SciFi on Friday nights at eight!
