The tracks "I Got Religion" (ToeHead) and "Corporate Monkey" (The Strangeways) were found on the internet just days before the final sound mix was scheduled to be done. Grisaffi discovered the band the Dead Monkeys and "Hot Dog Forever" while searching for monkey stuff online, long before production on Laughing Boy began. He kept the link to the song for over a year before realizing it fit perfectly into the movie.
The MacKenzie's house is actually the house of director Brazil Joseph Grisaffi III's brother, Jason.
Cody's driver-side window in his convertible is 3/4 up because the window was stuck.
