Third movie in which Philip Salvador played a real-life rebel commander. He first played Father Conrado Balweg, a Catholic priest turned communist leader, in Balweg (1987). It was followed by his portrayal of Bernabe Buscayno, the founder of the New People's Army, in Kumander Dante (1988).
