This movie was the directorial debut of former teen star Kerri Green, best known for The Goonies, Lucas, and Summer Rental.
This movie is based on the stage play of the same title which premiered at the Los Angeles Theater Center and was also directed and co-written by Kerri Green. Originating the roles of the teen mothers in the stage production were Bonnie Dickenson, Tanya Wright, Jude Herrera, and Patrice Pitman Quinn.
