'Gundam' creator Yoshiyuki Tomino originally planned 'V Gundam' to be the last Gundam series. However, Tomino's plans were overridden by Bandai, and the next year they began the famous "alternate universes" of Gundam with 'G Gundam'.
Yoshiyuki Tomino has said many times he despised working on the series, potentially due to high pressure from executives to make the show marketable for toy lines.
