The scene involving the hired guns torturing and killing indigenous South American tribes is staged. The lion attack sequence is also under suspicion as to being staged, but it has not been proven.

Goofs
When the native man is shot by the mercenaries, he is shot in the back but falls backwards, moving against the laws of physics. This is one aspect that proves the scene is a phony.

Quotes
Narrator: [directly before lions attack a tourist] This sequence is part of the evidence examined by the court in a lawsuit brought by the heirs of the victim against an insurance company.

Alternate versions
The UK cinema version was cut by around 10 minutes by the BBFC to heavily edit scenes of animal violence including a race between cheetahs and ostriches, and to remove a castration, a scalping, and a man being eaten by a lion in front of his family. UK censor James Ferman later described it as 'one of the most vile and objectionable films ever submitted to the BBFC'.

WANNA SEE LIONS MAUL A MAN... SURE YOU DO!

This film was not only great but also absolutely repulsive, which I love. The scene where a man is mauled by three hungry lions is very graphic. There are also some scenes where a hippie is breast feeding a goat. Has to be seen to be believed. I gave it a ten
