Roll up for the magical mystery tour!
A group of singers, musicians and presenters travels on a coach :they go from town to town to entertain middle France and their shows are radio broadcast .As the TV sets were very rare in early fifties France ,the only way for the audience to see the artists perform was the movie theaters;this is probably the reason why this flick was produced .
It essentially consists of musical acts, songs, jazz and even yodeling ,all written by Henri Betti :some of his songs (particularly "C'Est Si Bon" ,not included in the film )were translated into English.
The plot is just a pretext for showing the radio stars on the screen ;Jean Nohain was a popular presenter ;Roger Lanzac sings in the movie, but he is best remembered as a TV presenter in the sixties .
The plot is almost devoid of interest :the team is to perform in Saint-Honoré-Le-Hautain (=haughty!) but a breakdown (they have a flat tyre ) forces them to stop in Saint-Eloi-Le- Brave (=brave!) and to do their show in this village .
Like this? try these.....
-"Nous Irons A Paris" 1950
-"Cent Francs Par Seconde " 1953
(both movies by Jean Boyer)
