A Mediocre Retelling

It's Aesop's fable of the Lion and the Mouse in this rather poor black and white cartoon from Columbia Screen Gems. The credited talent includes Joe DeNat as the musical director, but there is no director credited. This means it is probably from another chaotic period in the cartoon studio, which began when Winkler grabbed Oswald the Lucky Rabbit from Walt Disney and soon discovered that he didn't own it either.

The uncredited voice artists sound pretty much like Billy Bletcher as the lion and Bernice Hansen doing the mouse. Billy is always welcome, but Bernice voices the mouse like Sniffles, and that is one mouse I never cared for. I think this is one of several dozen cartoon versions of the story you can miss.
