I can only guess that director Gustavson thought he was making some sort of masterpiece for the youths of today. But what he ended up with was this loud, too stupid for words, 90 minute music video! A messy rehash of every turkey in norwegian cinema with echoes of would-you-believe THE SHINING! The female lead character "TK" (Camilla Strøm Henriksen) shouts and shouts and shouts through the entire movie, maybe because that's the only way possible for us to hear her lines over Randall Meyers' NOISY soundtrack. When it comes to clichès they have managed to throw in everything but the kitchen sink in portraying the local farmers and fishermen in the movie. This is the first picture in years to actually give me a real headache, and just for that director Gustavson should find himself a corner to go stand in.

This movie is just terrible! How stupid is it possible to make a movie in Norway today? Watch this movie and you will know! A lot of noises, "MTV - cutting" and bad actors! How or where did they get money to make this crap? It makes me sick when I think about it!
The only difference of Weekend from a Hollywood movie is the fact that it's not in English, and you therefore require subtitles to understand it. Well, you still won't understand much until the last 20-25 minutes, which is when things start to unfold. That's somewhat interesting, but doesn't really work excellent with the rest of the "style" in this movie. Ok maybe I'm a bit unfair, the characters are more realistic than Hollywood films as well. Especially TK. But it's still a mediocre movie, nothing fantastic. Just like another person who has commented on this movie earlier, I expected much more out of this one, so I couldn't help getting disappointed. It's not garbage, quite watchable indeed. Just didn't live up to my expectations...
I would say 6.5/10

I expected more from this movie. There seemed to be quite a bit of action by watching it at the beginning. But there seems to be quite a bit of talking in the middle. However, there are a few scenes that are worth watching which will catch the attention. Its true there is quite a bit of arguing and screaming by a frustrated and angry young lady...but there is a reason within the storyline.
Overall, I was a bit disappointed at the movie perhaps mainly because I had higher expectations. However, this film is definitely 'watchable'. There are indeed some good parts in it. It's not bad, but I wouldn't make it one of my favourite Norwegian films either.
