This is Chris Grismer's directorial debut, and has that "made in Canada" look and feel to it. If you're looking for a movie with a great deal of plot or insight, then this probably isn't a movie for you. However this movie does provide an interesting slice of life into very dysfunctional uncle/niece relationship.
The niece does seem like a believable teenager, who makes all the naive mistakes that someone of her age would. The role of the creepy uncle is well played, and provides a believable portrayal of what makes a sexual predator. If you can make it through the first half, the second half is quite enjoyable.
