Judge Grove is back!
I've missed his sardonic comments, insistence on proper procedure, and surprising flashes of empathy.
He returned as part of a smartly executed, high-concept story on Major Crimes Season 5 Episode 16, and I couldn't be more thrilled.
Between an unusual format, an interesting story and Judge Grove's trademark sarcasm, "Quid Pro Quo" had a lot to offer.
But before getting to all that, there's a burning question I have to ask: What was Amy thinking, getting involved with Mark Hickman again?
Mark Hickman first appeared on Major Crimes Season 4 Episode 19. He was obnoxious, untrustworthy, and caused Amy a boatload of trouble because she kept sneaking off to meet him despite orders from Sharon to stay away from him.
So why, exactly, did she think this time would be any different?
Hobbs: It doesn't matter that you were cleared, Amy. No matter what he instructs the jury, they won't forget.

Julio-centric episodes are a rare treat on Major Crimes.
Julio is always an emotional, complex character who is fun to watch as he struggles to keep moving forward during difficult circumstances.
Major Crimes Season 5 Episode 10 was no exception.
Watch Major Crimes Season 5 Episode 10 Online
Considering the major losses Julio has had in his life, from his wife's death to his girlfriend turning out to be a murderer, it's not surprising he is willing to do anything to protect a motherless little boy.
He gets double points for caring so much about a child who hates him because he's Mexican.
Please can we wait for her? I'll be good, I promise. It won't be long. I'm sorry, okay? I'll be good.

A ton of awesome comic book characters have been introduced to us over the years, but not all of these characters were created for the comics. There are a handful of them that were created for other media before they found their way into the comic universes of Marvel and DC. Here is a list of ten comic characters that you may or may not know originated outside of the comics.
Harley Quinn[Television] Batman: The Animated Series
That's right folks, everyone's favorite sadistic Joker sidekick wasn't introduced into Batman's Rogues Gallery until Batman: The Animated Series. She was an instant classic! The first comic she appeared in was The Batman Adventures #12 in September of 1993. Over the years she has had her own series and also teamed up with Poison Ivy and Catwoman several times to beat down on Batman. She is my favorite female villain of all time.

For three seasons now, RuPaul’s Drag Race has announced its winner at a reunion special. Does that make it the best reality show with the worst finale? While I preferred the old way of announcing a winner, I don’t miss the “surprise” of seeing someone like Tyra Sanchez take the crown.
TVLine reports that TNT is developing a spin-off series of Major Crimes, one that sounds more like a spin-off of The Closer. The series will focus on Jon Tenney‘s Special Agent Fritz Howard. The case is closing in on one police officer, as Line Of Duty’s thrilling but bleak revelations keep coming…
This review contains spoilers.
The connection between both of this series’ investigations arrived with a horrid thud this week: “That’s Carly Kirk” said DC Fleming watching footage of a swanky police reception on the day of the teenager’s disappearance. Incriminatingly present at the same do was Dcc Mike Dryden, filmed fraternising with crooked vice officer Prasad (Sacha Dhawan), who, along with the man we now know to be Georgia Trotman’s killer, has just bundled Di Denton into the boot of his car.
That draws a clear line between Carly’s murder (if the body discovered is in fact, hers), the Detective Chief Constable who took on his wife’s speeding offence as an alibi for the night Carly disappeared, and the...

The series finale of "The Closer" drew the show's second-biggest audience ever Monday night (Aug. 13) -- and provided a big platform for the launch of its spinoff series, "Major Crimes."
Just under 9.1 million people said goodbye to Kyra Sedgwick and "The Closer," making the finale the No. 2 episode in the show's history behind the third-season finale (9.2 million) in September 2007. TNT says it expects Monday's episode to pass the 2007 show's Live +7 ratings (9.95 million) when the final numbers are released in a couple of weeks.
"Major Crimes," meanwhile, followed "The Closer" with a premiere audience of 7.2 million viewers. It bumps another TNT show, "Dallas," out of the top spot for the biggest cable series premiere of 2012.
Both "Major Crimes" and "The Closer," incidentally, drew more viewers than anything on broadcast TV Monday night.

Michael Moriarty, who starred in such classic films as Who’ll Stop the Rain and Pale Rider, exiled himself to Canada in 1995, following a nasty confrontation with U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno in a Washington, D.C. hotel room. Moriarty was invited along with network television executives and producers to hear Reno’s views on censorship of TV violence. Law and Order, one of the least violent shows on television, was cited as a major offender. Incensed by Reno's campaign to “forcibly end violence on television and trample on rights of free expression as guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution,” Moriarty quit the series and left the U.S. in protest. He has been a landed immigrant in Canada ever since. Why the fateful encounter with Reno led to a radical (and seemingly overnight) transformation of Moriarty’s...

British police foiled an insane plot by two men armed with swords who were apparently trying to kidnap or murder singer/actress Joss Stone at her home in the village of Cullompton, England. Neighbors alerted police about strange activity and a "suspicious-looking vehicle," THR reports, after which Devon and Cornwall police arrived to investigate.
Once at the scene, around 10am in the rural southwestern county of Devon, police apprehended the two men who were in a "red Fiat Punto." Along with the swords, the men were armed with a rope, body bag, and "detailed maps and aerial photographs" of Stone's home.
"I'd like to thank everyone for their concern but I'm absolutely fine and getting on with life as normal while the police continue with their inquiries," Stone, who was not even home at the time, said in a statement. The singer played one of the wives of Henry VIII...

Fortunately, they saved a good one for the finale. Has Brenda been so hip-deep in work that she's neglected the important things in life? That seemed to be one of the concerns, as well as the fun of dealing with someone who -- at best -- is a thorn in Chief Johnson's side. For all that and more, jump to the next page and tell Joel the cat he's not allowed on the table.
