According to his friends, the best way to get on El Duce's good side was through alcohol. On the day El Duce died (a week after Nick Broomfield interviewed him for the film, in fact), he'd shown-up very drunk and happy to a friend's house, announcing that the man with him was his "new best friend". El Duce and his friend later left; the next time El Duce was heard of he'd been hit by a train, and the man never came back.
Max Wallace and Ian Halperin wrote two books on the subject: "Who Killed Kurt Cobain?" and later, with Tom Grant's help, "Love and Death", which attempt to prove that Cobain was murdered and that Courtney might have had something to do with it. These books provide a lot of very good information on Cobain's death. There also several websites: Tom Grant runs www.cobaincase.com, and a good way of getting an unbiased view is www.justiceforkurt.com. There are a lot more websites out there as well.
