Lourdes' penthouse is actually the famed Retiro dos Artistas ("Artists' retreat"), a shelter for Globo TV veteran actors.
Denise Del Vecchio portrays the daughter of Yara Amaral's antagonist character. She played Amaral herself in a special episode of Hot Line (1999) covering the sinking of the Bateau Mouche, wherein the actress perished.
Inspired by Dallas (1978), which was being aired concurrently by Globo TV at the time of production.
Walter Negrão rushed to create this series to replace "Amor Perfeito", a canceled period series which was deemed too expensive to be made. Most of its cast was brought in to this series. The canceled production would be finally greenlit as The Power of Desire (1999), also starring Malu Mader.
