Only 40 minutes of the original material is left in Finnish Movie Archives.

The film was long thought to be lost after its original negatives were destroyed during the bombing of Helsinki in World War II. Roughly 43 minutes (with first 12 minutes without sound) were discovered in 1975 but as fragments from the middle of the story. The first 20 minutes and the whole ending sequence remain missing. The film was reconstructed in 2012 by the Finnish National Audiovisual Institute (KAVI) in which the plot has been supplemented with text from the original script and still pictures.
