The character at the end of the film who tells Candy that he's also going to Washington, D.C. where he has relatives in high places is supposed to be Billy Carter, black sheep brother of then President Jimmy Carter. The character is even seen carrying Billy's trademark can of beer.

The adult theatre "Candy" is escorted into was also featured prominently in the 1983 film "Angel". Operating as the Cave Adult Theatre in the 70's & 80's, the building (located near Hollywood & Vine) was formerly Sardi's Restaurant in the 1930's and a series of popular nightclubs from 1940 to 1970. The site now operates as a gentleman's club. The neighboring Howard Johnson's utilized in the film was demolished and serves as a parking lot.
