I remember vividly (pun intended) the Jasmine Aloha scene servicing a muscular sailor in a Bangkok brothel, having seen this video when it was new, and revisiting it nearly 25 years later I was surprised how unfortunate the feature comes off as a whole. Place the blame on yet another incompetent script from that IMDb darling "Cash Markman".
He might have seen the great Orson Welles' adaptation of Isak Dinesen's "The Immortal Story", a romantic fable about an imaginary sailor, but despite a labored attempt at whimsical fantasy late in the show (that culminates in a ridiculous finale) this story is awful.
It's more on the level of a dirty joke as our muscular and wise-cracking sailor played by Dan Steele goes to a legendary brothel run by Asia Carrera. He gets serviced there by the unique and also quite muscular exotic beauty Jasmine Aloha, and her sensual blow job of him stuck in my memory bank all these years.
Also there getting their bell-ropes pulled are Marc Wallice and Steven St. Croix, latter having a sexy three-way with two of the Asian working girls, and mocked as a Marine by our sailor "hero". Asia has two sex scenes, including an arousing lesbian tryst with Jasmine for the benefit of forced-voyeur Steele.
But the silly fantasy, poorly executed by director Toni English/Kelly Holland, occurs when taskmaster Asia insists her customer Steele assume the lotus position and meditate. He goes into a trance, and courtesy of cheap SPFX has an out of body experience that ends up with tragic results. Apparently Cash thought he was being clever, but the contrivance that converts the light and frothy film to attempted dark territory is wholly unsuccessful.
DVD version I just watched runs a skimpy 68 minutes, so perhaps Vivid cut the original, as it often did for these reissues of old VHS features in the DVD format. Surviving but only in the opening credits sequence are Tricia Yen masturbating and the divine Lesbian icon Felecia playing with her erect nipples in close-up -quite a sight!
