- TriviaA continuation of the Nickelodeon series Doug, there are a few differences between the two shows. The age and wardrobe of most of the characters, for one. Also, The Beets have broken up, the Honker Burger has been bought out and turned into a french restaurant, Roger Klotz is as rich as Beebe Bluff, former Mayor White is now the Principal of the school, Mrs. Dink is now the Mayor of Bluffington, Porkchop the dog lives in a tepee not an igloo, Connie has lost a lot of weight, the Funnies have a new baby Cleopatra Dirtbike Funnie, and oft-mentioned juvenile delinquent Skunky Beaumont finally makes a physical appearance.
- GoofsThe school Doug and his friends attend is called "Beebe Bluff School" But in some episodes in the third season, a sign reading "Bluffington Middle School" can be seen outside. Weirdly, this sign still has the "Double-B" logo and the silhouette of Beebe's head.
- Quotes
Construction Worker: [Repeated line, a number of times in the first season whenever a feature of the school is incomplete] We're workin' on it!
- Crazy creditsDuring the end credits, Porkchop runs around the bottom of the screen and Doug chases him.
- Alternate versionsThe original airing of "Doug's Chubby Buddy" ended with the voice of Patti giving information about contact places for eating disorders (bulimia, anorexia, etc). Versions of this episode on Toon Disney and the Disney Channel dubbed that part over with Roger and Skeeter arguing and cut the scene short with a long silence and a blackout.

I remember a time when ABC had an amazing line up of Saturday morning cartoons, including Reboot and Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic was sadly canned because of low ratings but with Reboot's cancellation was because Disney did not want a program they did not make on the Saturday morning line up. And in their place, what shows do we get? Besides the idiotic and senseless Pepper Ann, we get this load of garbage. Doug was once a NICK toon and in my opinion one of the better NICK toons. That previous show was fine, but this show is just plain horrible. It is brain dead and is a fine example of why Disney original programming is laughed at on a regular basis. The glory days of ABC Saturday morning cartoons ended with the premiere of this Doug cartoon.
