Updated: There has been another round of content removal from Disney+, this time in the Emea region, which consists of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. More than 120 titles have been taken off this week, primarily Disney Channel original movies and vintage Disney live-action films, as well as a few series, including Zeke and Luther, Pepper Ann, So Random and the first three seasons of Nat Geo’s Genius and ESPN/Nat Geo docs.
According to sources, the takedowns were a result of a library title review. There have been several content purges at Disney+ over the last year amid cost-cutting, most notably the removal of a slew of original series last May.
Here is a list of movie titles that are said to be gone from Disney+ in Emea, compiled by Drew Ryan.

When the trailer for Totally Killer was released a few weeks ago, there was a bit of an uproar on social media claiming that the film was ripping off The Final Girls (review). While there are undoubtedly similarities between the two films, Nahnatchka Khan‘s horror comedy has far more in common with something like Christopher Landon’s Happy Death Day films (specifically Happy Death Day 2U) than that 2015 film, aiming for a more absurdist, comedy-forward take on the “time travel slasher” sub-genre that apparently exists now. It’s also an incredibly charming little film that wears its influences on its sleeves and has so much fun with them in the hopes that you will too.

Through much of 2021, streaming service Disney+ has been Marvel’s domain. That’ll happen when you premiere WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki, and What If…? within eight months of one another. With the Disney+ list of new releases for September 2021, however, Disney’s other big franchise is striking back.
Star Wars: Visions is set to premiere all seven installments on Wednesday, September 22. This project is a collection of 7 animated short films all from renowned Japanese studios. As you can see by this first teaser, it could be rad. These seven shorts should also make the wait for The Mandalorian season 3 and The Book of Boba Fett even easier.
While Marvel’s What If…? continues on this month, the only other major Disney+ original to premiere in September is Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. As you might be able to guess from the name, this is a reboot of the sitcom Doogie Howser,...

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and so, too, is a very special birthday for Disney Junior, the Mouse House’s home for content targeting younger children: It’s turning 10.
Disney Junior first came to be on Feb. 14, 2011, as a programming block on Disney Channel, anchored by the premiere of “Jake and the Neverland Pirates.” A year later, it became its own 24-hour channel, home to such hits as “Pirates,” “Doc McStuffins,” “Sofia the First,” “Elena of Avalor,” “The Lion Guard,” “Muppet Babies,” “T.O.T.S.,” “Puppy Dog Pals” and “Mira, Royal Detective.”
“Disney Junior has always been about embracing emotional, character-driven storytelling featuring age-appropriate lessons for preschoolers, combined with a touch of Disney magic that the whole family can enjoy together. We’re proud of the diverse series and characters that we’ve built over the last 10 years, including the groundbreaking ‘Doc McStuffins,’ introducing Disney’s first Latina princess...

Nahnatchka Khan, who made her feature directorial debut earlier this year with Netflix’s “Always Be My Maybe,” has landed a first-look deal to direct more feature films for the streamer. The director, writer, and producer got her start over two decades ago writing and producing shows including “Pepper Ann” and “American Dad!,” which she would go on to executive produce, before creating the Krysten Ritter-starring comedy “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23,” which ran for two seasons, and the Constance Wu-starring “Fresh Off the Boat,” whose sixth season premieres September 27 on ABC.
“Nahnatchka is a whip smart, funny, talented filmmaker,” Scott Stuber, head of Netflix Film said. “She has an incredible eye for storytelling and bringing to light new talent and ideas. We’re thrilled to be the home to more of her films.”

“Recess” This show just understood playground politics. Also, the “Ashleys” could have been inspiration for Regina George and her mean girls. “Talespin” The characters of “The Jungle Book” are reimagined into a fictional post-wwi colonial town. The show could use an updated history lesson. “Pepper Ann” The show is smothered in girl power. Pepper Ann’s single mom was a feminist and there was always a good message to each episode. Young girls today deserve the same encouragement. “Timon and Pumbaa” Because “The Lion King” is one of the best original Disney movies (if not the best), why not continue...

It's been more than a decade since the 1990s ended, yet the Internet can't seem to go a day without a reminder of the neon slap bracelets that may have been banned from your school.

When it comes to style icons, real-life fashion figures like Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and Brigitte Bardot get all of the credit. But what about our favorite cartoon characters?
Since these were some of the first images to be ingrained in our little style psyches, we decided to shine the spotlight on some very deserving 'toons. See our list below and tell us if we missed any of your favorites!
1. Arnold from "Hey Arnold!"
That plaid shirt, those skinny pants and the semi-ironic baseball cap: Was he not the original hipster?
2. Quinn Morgendorffer from "Daria"
Quinn's smiley face crop top was definitely one of the coolest garments in cartoon existence. She said it best herself: "I want to be a role model for all you people, even the ones who need makeup really badly."
3. Pepper Ann from "Pepper Ann"
She certainly did march in her own parade, didn't she?

Step on up, Scott Gimple. You are now the showrunner for The Walking Dead.
Scott Gimple, an executive producer for The Walking Dead since the second season, is now in the captain’s chair for AMC’s zombie show. The showrunner position, much like the Defense Against the Dark Arts job, has had a new man in charge practically every season. Frank Darabont brought the show to glorious life, and then, after complications with the mercurial network, he left, and Glen Mazzara stabilized things. Now, Scott Gimple will see how long he can stay in charge. Gimple has worked on Life, Flashforward and the brilliant children’s show Pepper Ann. Showrunners on Twd are proving just as unsafe as the people on the show itself, but I wish him well.

Darkwing Duck, Doug, The Ren & Stimpy Show, Rocko’s Modern Life, X-Men, Pepper Ann. The ’90s were the best time for animated children’s programming, right? But, of course, I was a kid in the ’90s, so I’m biased. If I’d grown up in the ’80s I’d probably cite Thundercats, Jem, and He-Man as examples of how that decade was killing it and think the crap that all of the little jerks in the ’90s were watching lacked soul or guts or whatever. Until recently, my 20-somethingness had caused me to be totally dismissive of contemporary cartoons. I know, it’s a really odd thing to be pretentious about but in a lot of cases—in fact, most cases—it was warranted. But then I watched Regular Show and Adventure Time, two Cartoon Network animated series that have been getting a lot of love from kids and adults alike, and...

Young Roberts sings for Nick in 'Unfabulous'
Emma Roberts has been cast in the lead of a new comedy pilot under consideration at Nickelodeon. The 12-year-old niece of Julia Roberts and daughter of Eric Roberts will play the preteen protagonist of Unfabulous, which chronicles the life of a musically inclined junior high school student. Created by Sue Rose (Pepper Ann), Unfabulous began production last week in Los Angeles. Unfabulous is Emma Roberts' first TV role; she has appeared in films including Blow and Spymate and is attached to star in the upcoming film Daisy Winters. After a meeting with Emma Roberts this year, Nickelodeon was determined to work with her. "We had a great meeting and came away very impressed by her," Nickelodeon senior vp talent Paula Kaplan said. "When 'Unfabulous' came along, we knew we had found just the right project for her." Unfabulous chronicles the life and times of 12-year-old Ally, who periodically breaks into song to describe her feelings. Roberts will do her own singing for the part. Each episode opens with an embarrassing incident that happens to Ally. The story line then retreats backward in time to explain how she came to find herself in the opening mishap. The comical songs will be composed by Jill Sobule, a singer-songwriter whose credits include the hit "I Kissed a Girl." Emma Roberts is repped by manager David Sweeney at Sweeney Management. Her deal was brokered by Neil Meyer of Stone, Meyer & Genow.
