Goofs

Joe Torre: Curveballs Along the Way

Edit

Continuity

The final out of the World Series was made by the switch-hitting Mark Lemke. However, during Lemke's final at-bat facing right-handed pitcher John Wetteland, Lemke goes from batting left-handed to right-handed to left-handed all during the same at-bat.
When Joe Toree returns home and is welcomed home by friends and family. he has already been hired as yankee manager however he was hired in late October 1995 and he is at a BBQ on a summer day also when talking to a friend about the yankee team he says Martinez is fine but he's no Mattingly. The Yankees traded for Tino Martinez in December 1995 therefore nobody is BBQing in short sleeve outside in December.
The Yankees played a double header in Cleveland on June 21st 1996. a Radio caller and Yankee radio announcer John Sterling say if they beat Cleveland they are in first place, but the Yankees went into that series already in first place by 2 and a half games.

Factual errors

In the Yankees' locker room, there is a player wearing uniform number 15. Number 15 was Thurman Munson's number and was retired by the Yankees upon his death in 1979.
During a pitching change, the outfielders gather and talk. One of the outfielders is wearing number 46. In 1996, number 46 was worn by pitcher Andy Pettitte.
In 1996, Mariano Rivera wore number 42. However, an actor with much lighter skin than Mariano Rivera (who is Panamanian) was shown wearing number 42.
During the brawl in Seattle, the game is being played outdoors on a sunny day upon a grass field with dirt base paths. In 1996, the Seattle Mariners played in the Kingdome, an indoor dome with artificial turf, and with no dirt base paths.
