Elevator setting can either be set to go "further up" - eventually causing the plane to loop, or "further down" causing the plane to "go down" until it goes into a loop. For the plane to continually rise the elevator must first be placed in a position to rise, once the desired angle of rise is obtained they must be shifted back to "no change" position.
