The title theme is sung/spoken by Filmation founder and voice artist Lou Scheimer. The backing vocals are performed by his daughter, Erika Scheimer.
The last cartoon produced by Filmation. The company was purchased by L'Oreal, who closed the studio down because they were only interested in the animation library. At the time, two new series were in production: 'Bugzburg' (a spin-off from Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night (1987)) and 'Bravo', a spin-off of BraveStarr that focused on the Prairie People.
Thirty/Thirty's name is very likely a reference to the 30-30 Winchester cartridge made for the Winchester Model 1894 rifle.
BraveStarr was a property developed by Filmation and then offered to Mattel as a possible toy line, instead of the other way around as it was with Masters of the Universe. Some changes to the names and designs were made to please both parties. Filmation originally designed BraveStarr wearing a gold suit, but Mattel thought blue would be more attractive for a boy's toy. The result was a combination of both. Mattel also wanted the name of the planet 'New Cheyenne' changed to the more recognizable New Texas.
The background effects of Bravestarr's powers is the same as those used for Battle Cat's transformation in He-man and the masters of the Universe.
