the answer is not given in the game but there is a moment where McCoy gets poisoned in a shop but nothing happens to him so that could give a clue to the player.

Lucy calls and tells you to meet her at the Car shop. Walk there and
go towards her and chat a little. After a while you will arrive at the
Car Shops roof and meet a jelous Crystal. Kill her and go down again.
After the talk with the police and Lucy, go push the green button and
a car will go through an opening hole beside you. Go down the ladder
and down another ladder. Walk into the car and enjoy the ending
sequence.
