Niels Pind and his boy were filmed outside the old Sallinggård at the Frilandsmuseet in Lyngby.

According to Biograf-Bladet, the film was shot in Zealand in July 1940 - although it is supposed to take place in North Jutland. Filming was also done at Ørnegården on Lyngbyvej, on Solrød Strand, the manor pension Nordfeld on Møn, Stevns Klint, Bramsnæsvig and around Gershøj Kro by Roskilde Fjord.
