CSI: Denmark

No, not that Charles Bronson vehicle! This is a Danish police procedural that could be CSI: Denmark. Ah, just kidding, this doesn't rely on photos being magnified 1000X. Cop Kurt Jorgensen (Jesper Langberg) is part of a team investigating the failed assassination attempt on the Minister of Energy that resulted in the death of a guard. Naturally, other agencies are involved and Jorgensen finds himself butting heads with pushy Intelligence agents. I liked this even though it is a bit slow at times and will confuse you with the late appearance of a suspect who is important to the plot but never shown before. I kept thinking, "Who is this guy and why are they chasing him?" I did appreciate the ending where - after everyone is looking at terrorism and conspiracies - the true meaning of the crime is revealed with a twist and it is (intentionally) mundane. It also shows that not everyone is concerned with nuclear physics and killing "important" folks. Plus, Langberg looks like a Danish Michael Caine. Believe it or not, this got a dubbed US VHS release via Trans World Entertainment.
