Mumbai, Dec 9 (Ians) Actress Somy Ali, who is known for her work in movies like ‘Aao Pyaar Karen’, ‘Chupp’, ‘Andolan’, and many others, shared that surviving in the industry is not easy, and said actors should be wary of the fact that ‘rejection’ is a huge part of the acting world.
Somy, who was last seen in the 1997 movie ‘Chupp’, said that people need to be aware of the struggle required to survive here, before they decide to join the industry.
“I believe that if an individual is solely passionate about being in the entertainment industry, he or she is also hopefully prepared and comprehends that the chances of making it big are significantly low. Former actress Somy Ali has reminisced about working with actor Saif Ali Khan and Prem Chopra in their 1994 film ‘Aao Pyaar Karen’.
‘Aao Pyaar Karen’ is a romantic drama film directed by Ravindra Peepat. The film also stars Shilpa Shetty, Rakesh Bedi, Gulshan Grover, Mukesh Khanna and Himani Shivpuri. It is a remake of the 1992 Tamil film ‘Chembaruthi’.
Somy took to Instagram, where she shared a slew of pictures from “29 years ago” featuring her, Saif and the veteran star Prem Chopra.
She captioned the post, “Can’t believe this was 29 years ago!!! Time sure does fly! Best time ever working with Prem ji and playing his daughter who ironically is one of the nicest people I ever encountered in the industry.”

Mumbai, Feb 22: Former Bollywood actress Somy Ali, who now leads a non-profit organisation, says she has experienced domestic violence at home and it is important that the taboo against speaking out against such as ill practice is busted.
"I witnessed a great deal of domestic violence in my home as well as my mom's friends showing up with bruises quite often. It was an accepted norm. As a survivor myself, it was necessary to take a stand against many issues, particularly, injustice committed against women, children, and men under the guise of cultural norms," Somy informed.
Somy Ali's Ngo works towards rescuing men, women, and children from domestic violence and has been working non-stop since 2007.
