The aging actress Martha (Nicole Heesters) is working on the opening of her own theatre in the small town of Husum. Soon she is having an affair with the much younger Sebastian (Thomas Kretschmann), what is highly refused by the townsfolk. As even her theatre project is endangered, Martha starts to torment Sebastian with reproaches. Driven by her jealousy and possessiveness Sebastian leaves her in the end and moves to Berlin to start a new life. But Martha wants to have him back on any accounts, which has fatal consequences for all sides.
I give the movie 1 out of 10 points. The dialogues are terrible and the whole movie is over the top. One could have done more out of the story.
The only positive about this movie is the good performance of both leading actors. And it is a nice change to see Thomas Kretschmann as intimidated and insecure boy in contrast to his cold authority-figures, he uses to play.
