Fame really is in the eye of the beholder.
“GoldenEye” breakout Famke Janssen reflected on her tenuous experience with the press after her skyrocket to celebrity in 1995, starring alongside Pierce Brosnan in the now-iconic James Bond film.
“The Bond movie dictated a lot of my relationship with the press,” Janssen told The Independent. “Honestly, after ‘GoldenEye,’ I felt like I was thrown to the wolves. It was just an onslaught of attention, good and bad and everything in between. I realize every actor in the world thinks they can control the press, but ultimately the press always wins.”
Janssen continued, “I already had to deal with the stereotype of having been a model, but then I added another thing: model turned actress turned Bond Girl. I feel incredibly misunderstood at times. It’s the dichotomy between the way I look and what is happening inside. But that comes with being...

What is this? Sex-oriented movies with believable psychodramatics, made by a committed artist with taste and talent? Joe Sarno’s pictures still aren’t suitable for grandma, but he’s way, way above the exploitation grindhouse competition of his day. His ’60s B&W pictures are not only watchable, they’re involving. Restored to pre-print condition, they’re — how can I best put this? — artistically respectable.

There exists an alternate universe where the DeLorean from Back to the Future is housed in the Smithsonian Institution. There also exists a much darker alternate universe where the DeLorean is a heap of rusted metal in a junkyard. Fortunately for fans on this timeline, the DeLorean is safe and shiny in its new home in in Los Angeles. The Hero “A” car (the primary car used in the production of the Back to the Future trilogy) seemed bound for the wrecking yard after years sitting outside, at the mercy of the elements, on the Universal Studios lot alongside the tram tour route. Now, after over a year of restoration work, it’s back to its former glory, looking just like it did when it rolled off of Doc Brown’s truck. After briefly being on display in a glass box (indoors) at Universal, then being put into storage at...

One badass, gun-savvy heroine versus seemingly countless waves of assassins. Their battlefield: an upper-floor apartment. Though unique in many ways, Joe Lynch's Everly, the first film in which he's had total creative control, has a delightfully over-the-top, zany flavor that hearkens back to the days of ’70s grindhouse double bills that rolled reels at the drive-in.
Now filmmaker Joe Lynch is immersing his latest film in an old-school atmosphere by bringing Everly to California's Vineland Drive-In for a special screening this Friday night with members of the cast and crew attending alongside Lynch. Guests from the film will also appear for a special Everly Q&A after a screening at the Beverly Hills Music Hall theater the following night.

Guns are awesome, hot girls are awesome, and the two combined together nearly defies the laws of all things awesome. That’s why Everly, starring one of the hottest gals in Hollywood, Salma Hayek, as a sexy defender of the second amendment, looks like a must-see!
One week before the theatrical release of director Joe Lynch’s genre-bending film Everly, starring Salma Hayek (Frida, Desperado), a new “mash up” trailer created by world-renowned DJ and filmmaker Mike Relm has been released. This remix of the Vega, Baby! produced and Radius/TWC distributed action thriller perfectly captures the “gonzo” nature of the film. Relm’s masterful artistry transforms the dynamic soundscape in Everly from visual and audio samples into a darkly energetic sensory experience.

Hot Mugshot Guy nudes leak, Ethan Hawke credits gay media with drop in homophobia, how The Sims accidentally led the way with gay representation in video games
Remember Hot Mugshot Guy Jeremy Meeks? Well, his alleged nude photos have leaked online. Now since the crotch shots are completely separate from the head shots, I don’t know how you can prove they’re him, but if they are, he’s a hot below the waist as he is above the shoulders.
Texas Gop Chairman Steve Munisteri says he’s against the gay reparative therapy endorsed in the state platform, and believes most Texans are too, but the party platform is written by a committee with some strange parliamentary rules. “It’s false to represent that each one of those platform planks necessarily represents the view of the majority view of either the majority of the delegates let alone a majority of Republicans.

Pay TV Companies Say Espn Fumbled With Its $15B NFL Deal; Ratings: NFL Kickoff Game Down Slightly From Last Year, Still Big Anschutz Entertainment Group, TV networks and city’s NFL fans are cheering today, but Aeg is the most clear-cut winner. The California state Senate sent to Gov. Jerry Brown a bill streamlining the appeals process on the environmental impact report for Aeg’s proposed $1.2 billion stadium near Staples Center. In return, the developers promised to build “the most environmentally friendly sports stadium in the country,” according to Sen. Alex Padilla, the L.A. Democrat who co-authored the bill. With the assurance of no drawn-out appeals on the Eir, Aeg can start looking in earnest for NFL team that would like to call L.A. home. Politicians from both parties backed the bill, which passed the Senate 32-7. They cited the 23,000 construction and full-time jobs backers say will be...

Espn Radio and Fox Sports were broadcasting and cheerleaders were cheering. There were big-name football players and a blimp overhead with a camera fixed on the action below.
All that was missing from the gigantic pep rally in Los Angeles was an NFL team and a stadium where they could play, shortcomings that organizers of Tuesday's event intend on rectifying in time for the city to host Super Bowl L in five years.
"Ladies and gentleman, we hosted the first one, we should host the 50th one," said Tim Leiweke, the CEO of Anschutz Entertainment Group, which has teamed with entertainment and sports executive Casey Wasserman to convince the powers that be that they should be allowed to build a 1.7 million square-foot football stadium in downtown L.A.

Aeg, the owners of the Staples Center, are set to announce this morning a 30-year, $700 million agreement with Farmers Insurance for naming rights for a proposed NFL stadium to be built in downtown L.A.
The deal would be the most valuable naming rights agreement ever and a huge step toward bringing a pro football team to Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Times reports that the agreement would be for $20 million a year and escalate after that. The stadium, which would sport a retractable roof and 64,000 seats, would be called Farmers Field.
The $1 billion stadium has not been built, that site has not been approved and there is no team, but the pact provides momentum to solve all those problems. Naming rights deals have become difficult to come by (the new NFL stadiums outside Dallas and New York have no corporate monikers attached) amid the tough economic times. A competing...

With its culture-heavy strategy, teen retailer Hot Topic has sizzled during the downturn. Can it stay hot?
John Kirkpatrick is a lucky guy. "My teenage daughter and 10-year-old son think I have the coolest job," he says. As chief music officer of the retailer Hot Topic, Kirkpatrick has the onerous responsibility of bringing in emerging bands to rock out on the in-house stage at the company's City of Industry, California, headquarters. On his desk, CDs pile into precarious towers -- he gets more than 100 a month -- amid dueling Transformers action figures. Graffiti and hundreds of music posters fill the walls. All of this, he can say with a straight face, is work: "We're basically cultivating a kingdom of fandom."
Lately, swarms of teens and tweens have entered the kingdom thanks to smart bets made on music and film by Hot Topic, which sells everything from apparel and accessories to CDs and posters.
