The Zarkorr costume was designed by Jodi Zimelman with Zarkorr's roar taken from Tyrannosaurus-rex of Jurassic Park.
One of the buildings Zarkorr destroys as he crosses the Arizona-New Mexico border belongs to the A-Cycle Light Company, named after a weapon from the 1965 Godzilla movie Invasion of Astro-Monster.
Zarkorr is named after an alien from a story in the Marvel comic Tales of Suspense #35, "I Accepted the Deadly Challenge of Zarkorr!"
Zarkorr! The Invader received negative reviews from critics, but has a cult following who tend to praise the monster Zarkorr, but not the movie as a whole.
