Heather Locklear, best known for TV hits like "Dynasty" and "T. J. Hooker", shows she's more than just a pretty face here, giving a devastating performance as a housewife and mother of two girls who suffers from multiple personality disorder. Her condition stems from somewhat obtuse daddy issues in her childhood, which come to a head in the surprisingly intense climax. Despite a few over-the-top flourishes, this a tough, non-campy effort from the "Sybil" school, offering its leading lady a rare opportunity to do serious work. Director Stephen Gyllenhaal really gets into the heroine's scrambled mindset, with jagged editing taking her from morning into night into the next afternoon into the following morning. The ominous plot-thread with Locklear's father, who was involved in some dirty financial dealings, isn't made quite clear, but Locklear is fully invested in her character and the film has a nice gritty look.

Shattered Mind,AKA The terror Inside stars Heather Locklear as a woman tormented by multiple personalities.Locklear is very convincing here,in a very non glamorous role.the movie is engrossing at times, but very dreary and depressing.it's also hard to follow at times and ,moves ponderously slow.it's hard to watch,to say the least.i don't think it's a movie you could enjoy, but i think it's enlightening.the performances are all good.the problem is,the story is almost all hopeless despair, with no real bright side.i think it would have been better if there had been a few lighter moments, though i realize it's not always easy to do with this type of movie.it's a made for TV movie, but it's very well made.because of that and the performances, especially Locklear,i give Shattered Mind a 7/10

This is the best portrayal I've yet seen of dissociative identity disorder (formerly called multiple personality disorder); it is NOT about schizophrenia.
The actress is very accurate as she portrays "switching" from one "alter" to another -- It's a bit exaggerated in portraying the woman as having a second life as a prostitute, such "florid" presentations of MPD are 5% or less.
Great movie, not sensationalist like some.

Heather Locklears performance about a woman with multiple personalities was quite a good account of this well known condition, and all her characters were completely different and she switched from them with great ease, but i did think of one of her characters being a hooker was maby going a little to far, but Heathers brilliant acting pulled it off
