Shane Taylor hit a leg drop on Switchblade. Jay White rallied back with a flurry of offense. In the world of online multiplayer games, particularly first-person shooters, cheaters have long been the bane of honest players’ existence. And Activision, the powerhouse behind the Call of Duty franchise, has been waging a relentless war against these digital ne’er-do-wells, with their Ricochet anti-cheat system leading the charge.
But as with any good battle, the tides can turn in unexpected ways.

Recently, Activision found itself in hot water when Ricochet mistakenly banned a number of legitimate players. While the company was quick to reverse these bans and restore affected accounts, the incident left many gamers questioning the effectiveness of their anti-cheat measures.
Now, as Black Ops 6 looms on the horizon, Activision is pulling out the big guns—or should we say, the big algorithms?

In a shocking turn of events, Activision has admitted that its much-touted Ricochet anti-cheat system for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone had a critical flaw that led to the banning of legitimate players. To understand "The Bionic Woman" heroine Jaime Sommers, you first have to get on board with "The Six Million Dollar Man." The young tennis star turned partially cyborg superhero was first introduced on "The Six Million Dollar Man" in the show's second season as a female counterpart to the series' male bionic hero. Jaime, the show told viewers, was severely injured in a skydiving accident, but cutting-edge technology allowed her to not only live through it, but also gain new skills. She had extra-strength hearing, superstrength, and the ability to run at top speeds, all of which came in handy for her new life as a schoolteacher-slash-spy.
A high-concept storyline like this one may not thrive on TV today (unless it was made by DC or Marvel), but in the '70s, audiences ate it up. Jaime's eventual death in "The Six Million Dollar Man" was so poorly received that...

Ray Fisher ignites the screen as Lymon, the best friend of lead character Boy Willie Charles, played by John David Washington, in Netflix’s period drama “The Piano Lesson.” His portrayal has even sparked some early Oscar buzz.
Fisher’s last few years have been challenging following his public dispute with “Justice League” director Joss Whedon and former DC Films president Walter Hamada. But this project offers Fisher a chance to move forward.
“What helped this entire process is, I’ve got to give it up to August Wilson,” Fisher said during an interview at the Variety Studio, sponsored by J.Crew and SharkNinja, at the Toronto International Film Festival. “The juxtaposition that existed within the piece, within the character. I think there’s a little of Lymon Jackson in all of us. There’s an innocence about him in this piece that many lose as time passes, especially when you endure such hardship.

XDefiant is currently a popular name for first-person shooters. The free-to-play game was released on May 21 on Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
The game was considered to be a Call of Duty killer with its immersive gameplay and stunning visuals. However, there’s no confirmation if this game is going to topple the Activision title, but it’s surely following Cod in a certain way.
XDefiant Is Infested with Hackers
Since the launch of XDefiant, the game has been going through some serious issues, like server issues and many more. However, the most problematic situation for the game is the atrocity of innumerable hackers.
Recently, a fan shared a gameplay clip where he had to face a disgusting cheater, using speed and auto-aim hacks. This hacker was going all the way around, killing players without any hassle. Despite reporting the player, the hacker wasn’t banned.

Actor Denzel Washington has collaborated with several actors in his long career, including Law & Order:Svu star Ice-t.
While Ice-t is also a veteran actor himself, working with Washington was one of those rare instances when the rap star was starstruck.

Ice-t had already conquered the world of hip-hop in the mid to late 1980s. But at the start of the 1990s, the rap star would dip into acting. What’s the saying? Oh yeah… third times the charm and the Resident Evil series is no exception. For our third outing we’re here to explore the aftermath of the apocalypse with Resident Evil: Extinction (watch it Here). This one is pretty divisive with the consensus being some people, like myself, loved this film while others felt this was the beginning of the downward slope of sequels of the franchise. Hear me out as to why I sing its praises. For one, it tells a cohesive story and gives us a side of Alice that we’ve been dying to see. We get more new characters that bring gravitas to the story as well as a fully fleshed out villain and it’s a lot of fun. Plus, its pays homage to The Road Warrior in the best way. So, let’s hit up the Sand Dunes of Vegas,...

Cheaters in Call of Duty need a double-check from developers. Despite many attempts to ward off the evil in the game, appears like no trick is working out against malevolent players. Another instance has surfaced on the internet where one hacker ruined the game entirely. Interestingly, that malicious user didn’t even use a gun to wreak havoc in a cross-play-off lobby.
An anti-cheat system dubbed Ricochet is been in place for months now, however, it appears like the systems are still learning to distinguish the innocent from malevolent ones. In their last crackdown, the Ricochet team said they had banned 6,000 hackers from the game. Still, the problem persists and is spreading like wildfire.

Cheaters in Call of Duty have become such a topic of debate, the subject has now reached certain celebrities. Recently, the conversation made it to The Joe Rogan Experience, a podcast hosted by American comedian and UFC color commentator Joe Rogan.
Over the years, the show has become immensely popular, with millions of monthly listeners on Spotify.
Recent patches in MW3 and Warzone were supposed to get rid of these cheaters, however, the issue persists and they continue to plague the game. Players have urged the devs to take strict actions against hackers, but all a user is left with is a feeling of being unheard.

Call of Duty is a game that has always been susceptible to cheating and has been a bone of contention with fans for years. There are still those hardcore fans of the franchise who enjoy the online multiplayer of Modern Warfare and Warzone and find that the gaming experience is tarnished by those who use unscrupulous methods to win.
This has been highlighted by thousands of players and developers Activision Blizzard addressed this by introducing their anti-cheat initiative for PC – Ricochet. With this came promises of a multi-faceted approach to cheating, enhanced investigation processes to root out cheating and updates to strengthen account security. It all sounded like this was a step in the right direction.

Someone has got to keep these cheaters in check or Call of Duty is finished. No one would want to play a game full of cheaters and CoD: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone are already plagued with hackers taking over the game. Recently, the Ricochet Anti-Cheat team updated the fans that they’ve taken down 6,000 cheaters in the game, appears like they found another way to avoid getting tagged.
Ricochet Anti-Cheat system monitors and identifies unethical practices happening in the game and bars the accounts involved from entering servers. It uses data collection and machine learning to tackle cheaters. One of its features dubbed Damage Shield can identify game data manipulation in real time.

A lot of really fun movies from the eighties and nineties are tough to get decent copies of. While some of the stories have happy endings, other films seem all but doomed to languish until a niche label like Arrow Video, Kino Lorber, or Unearthed Films gives them the TLC they deserve. So, what’s the title we’re worried is Gone Forever here at JoBlo? A cool little thriller (which I previously wrote up for Best Movie You Never Saw) from 1991 called Ricochet has a pretty impressive pedigree. The movie stars Denzel Washington, John Lithgow, Ice-t, Kevin Pollack and The Bionic Woman herself, Lindsay Wagner, while Highlander’s Russell Mulcahy directs it, is produced by Joel Silver, and is written by Die Hard’s Steven E De Souza. In fact, Ricochet takes place in the same universe as Die Hard, with Mary Ellen Trainor reprising her role as snoopy TV reporter Gale Wallens.

Hackers in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone are having fun flying helicopters to outer space, getting grenade launcher kills from sniping range, and doing what not to ruin the game’s experience. That doesn’t mean the CoD team is just sitting back, they are observing too. Since the introduction of the game’s anti-cheat system, Ricochet, they have barred a large number of accounts from the game using hacker mods.
Last year, they instituted a concept called “splat.” As the name suggests, it can flatten a player on the ground, giving it a fine coat of red, something that Splatoon players will find amusing. What the system does is cut a player’s parachute upon detecting them using a hacked version of the game. What follows isn’t that hard to imagine.

Battle Royale games were popularized following the release of PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds and Fortnite, and then Call of Duty: Warzone came. As exciting as it can be, there is always someone trying to ruin the experience of the masses for their own fun.

From wall hacks to aimbots, these fancy users can kill the mood and gaming spirit of any player playing legitimately. Call of Duty Warzone and Activision/Blizzard have enormous difficulty with cheaters. The game is crawling with these users who just want to make things difficult for every player. After many mass banning of accounts every couple of months, the hackers keep resurging, and the cheaters flood the game again. One of the most concurrent problems in first-person shooters for PC is the cheaters. Call of Duty Warzone has a severe issue with this. Through the years, the team has banned millions of accounts for using cheats or hacks in multiplayer matches. Activision has now confirmed that the anti-cheat system for Warzone is having some issues, so the cheaters and hackers are back. Players are recommending staying out of the game until Ricochet, when the anti-cheat system will be restored to normal, especially in ranked matches.

Activision has a very massive cheater and hacker problem in Warzone. The studio has already banned millions of accounts over the years without a permanent solution. For the PC version of the game, the Ricochet anti-cheat system is used to avoid this kind of difficulty.

Months ago, we here at JoBlo started writing about an issue near and dear to the hearts of film fanatics everywhere – the resurgence of physical media. After being shocked by how difficult it was to find the Ron Howard movie Cocoon, I decided to make a list of 10 movies that were difficult to find, but the comments on the article clued me into the fact that the issue of out-of-print classics is far more widespread than I assumed. Last week, I did an article about how movies like The Cannonball Run and Dogma are missing, and in that vein, here are five more cult classics that are surprisingly tough to find.
Ricochet:
This 1992 action film was an early attempt to turn Denzel Washington into an action star. Despite stylish direction by Russell Mulcahy and an unforgettable turn by John Lithgow as the movie’s villain, it was only a modest success.

Denzel Washington’s 2010 action thriller The Book Of Eli is heading to the small screen, with John Boyega take the lead as a younger Denzel.
Much like Liam Neeson, Denzel Washington has become something of an action hero in the latter stages of his career. While he has previously appeared in films like Ricochet and Crimson Tide, it wasn’t until he played John Creasy in Tony Scott’s brutal 2004 revenge film Man On Fire that we really got to see him off some bad guys in a variety of inventive ways.
Since then of course, he has become synonymous with vigilante justice, dishing out karmic vengeance in three Equalizer films to date. But in 2010, he played a different kind of action hero in The Book Of Eli, a post apocalyptic thriller in which he plays a drifter intent on delivering a sacred book to safety in the West Coast of the United States.

A few years ago, director Oliver Harper made a documentary called In Search of the Last Action Heroes, which was described as “a comprehensive retrospective of the ’80s and ’90s action film genre.” One of the people interviewed for that documentary was screenwriter Steven E. de Souza, who was a major contributor to the action genre in those decades, working on the likes of 48 Hrs., Commando, The Running Man, Die Hard, Die Hard 2, Hudson Hawk, Ricochet, Beverly Hills Cop III, and Street Fighter, among others… with one of the others being the much-maligned Sylvester Stallone comic book movie Judge Dredd. In a moment that didn’t make it into the final cut of In Search of the Last Action Heroes, de Souza discussed the issues that Judge Dredd ran into, including bad marketing and a struggle to secure an R rating. Harper has been kind enough to share that deleted scene online,...

One of my favorite underground bands over the past few years is Iress, a Los Angeles-based doomgaze band that’s reminiscent of Alice in Chains with a heavy dose of 90s grunge.
Vocalist Michelle Malley has been dubbed the “Adele of Doom” by her LA music peers
Iress has generated a tremendous underground following since their 2nd self-released album, 2020’s must-hear Flaw.
The band returned from a long pandemic show break with a sold-out headlining show at LA venue The Echo and have now shared “Ricochet”, the first track on their forthcoming EP, Solace, arriving May 12 via Dune Altar Records!
“I feel emotional every time I sing ‘Ricochet’,” the singer told Buzz Bands. “I started writing it a couple years back during a really rough time in my life. When the band got their hands on it, it really transformed into something powerful. It’s a song about loss and...

NBC Sports this week made the not-too-surprising announcement that much of its Beijing Olympics team would be covering next month’s Winter Games from afar, in Stamford, Ct, as the Covid pandemic once again disrupts the event.
But the international outcry over human rights abuses in China, leading to a U.S. diplomatic boycott, has put extra scrutiny on how the network covers the Games, starting with the telecast of the opening ceremonies on February 4, with Mike Tirico hosting from Beijing and Today‘s Savannah Guthrie in the states.
Human rights groups already have called on NBC and other broadcasters to drop plans to carry the Games, and while that was never a likely prospect, network executives said this week they will add two China experts: Andy Browne, former China editor at the Wall Street Journal and now editorial director of Bloomberg New Economy, as well as Jing Tsu, a...

Rome-based 102 Distribution is bringing onto the market the Mexico-Italo co-production “500 Millions of Red Shoes,” directed by first time director Carlos Eichelmann Kaiser and co-produced by Mexico’s Bhd Film. Gabriela Maldonado and Alexandro de Icaza are producing for Bhd.
“500 Million” was financed by Mexico’s Imcine film agency with the Eficine tax incentive instrument established in 2006 by article 189 of the income tax law. It shot in the spring of 2020.
The movie went into production in Mexico where red shoes have become symbolic of the protest surrounding violence against women. The red shoe movement began with an art project in 2009 by Mexican artist Elina Chauvet.
A fiction film, “500 Millions of Red Shoes” is set in a forgotten part of the Mexican mountains. Tacho, a farmer, tends to his plot of land as life passes him by. When he receives news of his daughter’s death, he travels to the city to bring her body home.

Media Luna New Films has acquired worldwide rights to Rodrigo Fiallega’s gritty Mexican drama “Ricochet,” whose star Martijn Kuiper won best actor Sunday at the Morelia Film Festival. Media Luna will present the film to buyers at the American Film Market, which starts Monday.
In “Ricochet,” quiet loner Martijn leads a hermit’s life on the outskirts of the city after his son was murdered at the local festival. Estranged from his wife and diagnosed with a terminal disease, he seems to live in a past that’s irretrievably gone – until the day he finds out that his son’s murderer will be released from jail, setting him on the trail of revenge that is beyond redemption.
“What starts out as a touching story about loss and loneliness evolves into something so much darker – a powerful contemplation of anger and rage – and, finally, into a tragic reminder of the senseless futility of violence,...

Warner Bros Producer Ricochet & ‘Masked Singer UK’ Maker Bandicoot Devise Post-Lockdown Dating Shows
Exclusive: Warner Bros-owned Ricochet and Bandicoot TV, the producer behind The Masked Singer UK, are developing separate dating shows for ITV2 and the BBC respectively.
With the UK emerging from lockdown and social distancing rules being relaxed, finding love is back on the agenda —and the two new formats offer new ways into the dating genre. Both are already casting for singletons.
Ricochet, which has enjoyed stellar success recently with BBC One’s The Repair Shop, is working on a Dinner Dates-style ITV2 series, with the working title Love Bites.
Three amateur cooks will be delivered a box of ingredients, from which they must create a three-course meal to impress a singleton. The singleton will taste the food and chose one of three cooks to date.
Hat Trick Productions-produced Dinner Dates features a participant choosing three menus and blind-dating the three amateur cooks behind the meals. The format is...

Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn made their mark together as the hosts of the reality competition TV series “Project Runway.” The Emmy-winning pair left that show to preside over another hunt for the next hot designer, “Making the Cut.” This globe-trotting series, which debuts in March on Amazon Prime Video, takes contestants to the design capitals of the world as they compete to stay in the competition.
Amazon Prime Video has also cornered the market on the remakes of Agatha Christie‘s classic mystery novels. The adaptation of her one-off novel, “The Pale Horse,” starts to stream on Amazon Prime mid month after debuting on the BBC at Christmas.
Below is the full schedule of everything that is coming to Amazon Prime Video in March 2020. Unlike Netflix, Amazon does not disclose the shows and movies leaving the service in any given month.

Here's everything coming to Amazon Prime instant video in March 2020!
For its new releases in March 2020, Amazon Prime is enlisting help from some horror friends.
Yes, horror is the name of the game this month with Night of the Living Dead (albeit the 2007 version), The Crazies, and The Descent all arriving on March 1. And if that weren't enough, Pet Sematary comes a little later on on May 19. Look at Church the cat in that thumbnail image. How could you not want to watch his spooky adventures?
The Amazon original offerings are typically sparse for March 2020 but still pack some punch. Italian import ZeroZeroZero stars Gabriel Byrne and arrives on May 6. Then British import Agatha Christie's The Pale Horse comes a little later on March 13.
For what it's worth, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot debuts on March 13 so it's not all horror and all European TV all the time.

We’ve already touched base on the Netflix titles heading our way next month, but what about Amazon Prime?
Though the former is widely considered to be the undisputed heavyweight of the online streaming world, it didn’t take long for Prime to become a tantalizing prospect, no thanks to kick-ass original series like The Expanse, The Boys and The Man in the High Castle.
The real issue for the end consumer is juggling all those subscriptions, particularly now that Disney+ is live across North America (March 24th for those in the UK). Be that as it may, as February nears its end, Amazon has detailed all of the content bound for Prime in March 2020.
Among the new additions are a host of big-name horror films, including Neil Marshall’s The Descent and its creepy sequel. Best of all? Pet Sematary, the reimagining of Stephen King’s literary developed by Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer.

We have a list of the new Hulu movies and shows arriving in March 2020.
March sees the beginning of one of TV's more interesting experiment in 2020. Hulu's new releases for March 2020 are highlighted by the launch of the torturously-named "FX on Hulu" in which certain FX shows will premiere exclusively on Hulu.
Yes, when Disney set out up the entertainment industry, it gained more brands than it knew what to do with. And that's how you get stuff like FX on Hulu. The streaming/cable hybrid begins in earnest in March with two series, Alex Garland's sci-fi Devs and the weird Lil Dickey comedy Dave. More FX on Hulu is set to arrive in April as well.
Hulu's only $5.99/month now, grab the deal here!

Warner Bros. International Television Production indie Ricochet is adapting the group’s German format Cash For Trash into a BBC One show.
Ricochet has been commissioned to make 30-part daytime series The Bidding Room, in which expert dealers compete to buy items presented to them by members of the public.
Hosted by Chariots of Fire actor Nigel Havers, the show is based on Bares für Rares (Cash For Trash), which was first made for Germany’s Zdf in 2015 by Warner Bros. International Television Production Germany.
The format is the biggest daytime factual entertainment show in Germany, according to the BBC, and has been remade for France 2 with similar success. Sbs in the Netherlands has also adapted the show.
The Bidding Room will be executive produced by Emma Walsh, with Claire Egerton-Jones serving as series producer. Acting BBC daytime boss Carla-Maria Lawson and Lindsay Bradbury commissioned the show.

Out of the copious amounts of popcorn flicks that I experienced in my youth, Cliffhanger manages to stand head and shoulders above the rest of the pack for several reasons. Firstly, it never gets old watching an at-his-peak Sylvester Stallone kick ass and take names. Secondly, you can always count on John Lithgow to play an amazing bad guy (see also: 1991’s Ricochet as proof of this). And last but not least, the perilous setting of the Colorado Rockies wilderness is equally memorable as it is bone-chilling.
As is the case with a lot of successful and nostalgic movies from the last few decades, Hollywood has deemed it necessary to move forward with a reboot of Renny Harlin’s 1993 classic. Specifically, critically acclaimed director Ana Lily Amirpour (A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night) has recently been confirmed to helm the upcoming project.

My Opinion: 3 out of 5 – Well, this was a fine little match that proved to be one of the more exciting things on the card. This was consistently entertaining the whole way through and made for a solid title match. It felt very random having Gulak win, but that is par for the course with the WWE’s cruiserweight division.

Welcome to this week’s Monday Night Raw review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and this wasn’t very good. Yeah, this show sucks. Also, I checked into the Google audience reviews of Raw and they piss all over this McMahon family variety show $#!@. Okay, let’s see if you guys will like any of this.
Match #1: Shane McMahon def. Lance Anoa’i The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Shane McMahon’s victories over The Miz were as much mental as they were physical — more so, if we’re being honest — so it’s no surprise that “The Best in the World” would attempt to replicate his strategy against Roman Reigns. With no ringside father to torment, however, McMahon insulted The Big Dog’s heritage by beating up a cousin of Reigns, Lance Anoa’i. The match, ostensibly sanctioned as an exercise in respect, turned...

Welcome to this weeks review of WWE Raw, which emanates from the University of Kentucky and looks to be building towards this years Money in the Bank Pay Per View on May 19th! I’m Phil and I’m phil-ling in for Nathan this week, so lets go!
Match #1: Braun Strowman & Ricochet def. Drew McIntyre & Baron Corbin The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Among the long, long list of Drew McIntyre’s superior attributes — hard head, wicked kick — we can now add one more: He has a very long memory. Still smarting over the win Baron Corbin stole from him last week on Raw, The Scottish Psychopath straight-up bailed on the former Constable in Raw’s opening tag team match, leaving him to the mercy of Ricochet and Braun Strowman. For what it’s worth, however, Corbin had a chance to settle up with the former Nxt Champion,...

Welcome to this week’s Raw review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have the Raw after Wrestlemania. Let’s see if it is a success or a failure, like my bid to buy Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling…which was a miserable failure. I’m not kidding. I actually tried to buy Tna in 2014. Anyway, here comes this review, which might just be a lot of fun…might.
Match #1: Raw Tag Team Champions Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins def. The Revival – Raw Tag Team Championship Match The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Curt Hawkins finally won a match at WrestleMania Kickoff — and the Raw Tag Team Titles, too, much to the chagrin of The Revival. But was Hawkins & Zack Ryder’s win a fluke or a harbinger of things to come? All indications point to the latter, as the new champions successfully defended their titles...

Welcome to this week’s Smackdown Live review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have the final Smackdown Live before Wrestlemania, so let’s see If Vince gave the WWE World Title Match some extra time to get you excited about it for the big card.
Match #1: The Usos & Aleister Black & Ricochet def. The Bar & Shinsuke Nakamura & Rusev The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Four of the best tag teams on SmackDown Live paired off and squared off as SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos teamed up with Aleister Black & Ricochet to take on The Bar & Shinsuke Nakamura & Rusev. The team of The Bar, The King of Strong Style & Bulgarian Brute looked to wear down Jey Uso, but Jey eventually tagged his brother Jimmy for a noticeable tone shift in the contest. Soon, fisticuffs broke out all over the ring, with all eight Superstars getting in on the action.

Match #1: WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection, Beth Phoenix & Natalya def. Nia Jax, Tamina & The IIconics The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Is Beth Phoenix’s return from retirement just a nostalgia trip? WWE Universe, it is not. The Glamazon was a house on fire in an Eight-Woman Tag Team Match six days before WrestleMania’s cross-generational Fatal 4-Way for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, and she was a problem for champions and challengers alike in what ended up being her first Raw victory in nearly seven years. Not only did Phoenix go head-on with reigning champions Sasha Banks & Bayley on multiple occasions, she pie-faced Banks off...

Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Nxt is going to find the next contender to Tomasso Ciampa’s Nxt World Title…or is it? Isn’t that…spoooooooooky?
Match #1: (Main Event) Adam Cole def. Ricochet, Velveteen Dream, Matt Riddle and Aleister Black in a No. 1 Contender’s Fatal 5-Way Match The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
With the Nxt Title vacated for the first time in Nxt history, the grueling Fatal 5-Way Match to determine Johnny Gargano’s opponent at TakeOver: New York certainly lived up to its high-stakes billing. As for the Superstar who stood tall among the black-and-gold brand’s finest to earn the Nxt Championship Match in the Big Apple, it was none other than Adam Cole … “Bay Bay!” With his gold-laden plans for Undisputed Era initially off on the wrong foot earlier in the year,...
