The film was sold for 40 to 50 Lakhs per territory. It did its best business in Bombay. Amitabh had the Bombay territory as his fees.
The film had a way smaller budget compared to other Amitabh Bachchan films. This was due to the financial problems the film was facing before and after Ramesh Behl's death. After his death the entire cast helped Bubbles Behl complete the film on a very tight budget .
Fight master Yagneesh yelled at Amitabh while filming a karate scene. The scene was to have Amitabh teaching karate to Neelam. Amitabh kept getting the steps wrong over and over again. Even Neelam was getting it right. Yagneesh blew his cool and raised his voice on Amitabh. The whole unit was stunned. But Amitabh stayed quiet. A few hours later Amitabh walked up to Yagneesh and gave him his 4 line dialogue scene and told him to read it. Yagneesh started sweating knowing he was going to get it wrong. That is when Amitabh replied "Aisa hi hota hain ,when you do something you are not confident about".
Pukar's background music was used in some scene's.
Indrajeet, Insaniyat, Aaj Ka Arjun, Agneepath, Hum & Khuda Gawah were the last batch films Amitabh Bachchan signed then to retaire.
