This movie was re-released directly to home video as The Tender in 1994. This was done immediately following the success of Pulp Fiction in attempts to capitalize of John Travolta's recaptured star power.
Triumph Releasing was set to distribute this film domestically during the fall of 1991, but the release never occurred and it was pulled from their slate.
Filming was originally scheduled for April 1987 in Houston, Texas, but was postponed because of a threat of a strike by the US Directors Guild.
