The character Black Beauty is a colt/stallion (male). However the newly born foal playing Black Beauty in this film is a filly (female).
In the barn fire scene Black Beauty (a.k.a. Docs Keepin Time), was coated with a fire retardant gel that protected him from the flames.
Nearly 20 years later, actors Jim Carter (John Manly) and Alun Armstrong ( Reuben Smith) appear together in A Moorland Holiday (2014) Christmas special, although they never share scenes.
