Based on the BBC Radio 4 comedy show "On The Hour".
Christopher Morris, Alan Partridge, Collaterlie Sisters and Sylvester Stewart are the only characters to appear in all six episodes of the series.
This series was the 1st time the Alan Partridge character appeared on TV. He originated three years earlier (in the same role of sports reporter) on Chris Morris' radio spoof series On The Hour.
The snooker player in the opening sequence is Mike Hallett.
