Arshad Warsi recently shared an experience from the 1990s involving his work as a choreographer on the film Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, where he claimed to have been underpaid despite saving the production money by finishing his work in less time. According to Arshad, he was promised Rs 1 lakh for choreographing a song but received only Rs 75,000 because he completed the work in three days instead of the expected four.

Boney Kapoor, the producer of the film, responded to these claims in an interview. He dismissed Arshad’s complaints, stating that Arshad was not a star at the time and questioning why such a large amount would have been promised to him. Boney also mentioned that there was no formal agreement regarding payment and that the amount Arshad received was consistent with the Rs 25,000 per day rate that had been set.

Mumbai, Dec 17 (Ians) Actor and judge of celebrity dance reality show, ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’- Arshad Warsi went down the memory lane and recalled the times when he did not had work for three years, and how life changed for him after ‘Munna Bhai Mbbs’.

Arshad, who started his career in 1987 as an assistant director to Mahesh Bhatt in the movie ‘Kaash’, had choreographed the title song of ‘Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja’.

He made his acting debut in 1996 with the Amitabh Bachchan-produced romantic drama ‘Tere Mere Sapne’. It also stars Chandrachur Singh, Priya Gill and Simran.

The actor is best known for his role as Circuit in the 2003 satirical comedy drama ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. It stars Sanjay Dutt in the lead, with Sunil Dutt, Gracy Singh, Boman Irani, and Jimmy Sheirgill in pivotal roles.

“One of my most successful makeovers was for Sridevi in the film ‘Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja’, where she was portraying a Chinese character. I was busy with some ad film shoot and didn’t have any available dates. Sridevi requested me to come and do her make-up in the morning and she would retain that make-up throughout the day. Mumbai, March 9 (Ians) Veteran Bollywood actor-writer-director Satish Kaushik – remembered as ‘Calendar’ in the film “Mr. India” – passed away at 67 late on Wednesday.

His friend and another legendary actor Anupam Kher shared the news in a tweet early Thursday.

Born in Haryana, Kaushik was an alumnus of the Nsd and the Ftii, and started his film career in the early 1980s.

He penned the dialogues for the 1983 classic “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron”, which acquired a cult following over the years.

He is known for his comic roles as ‘Calendar’ in “Mr. India”, “Pappu Pager” in “Deewana Mastana” among many others.

Kaushik also gave sterling performances in other films like “Ram Lakhan” and “Saajan Chale Sasural”.

He directed Sridevi’s film, “Roop Ki Rani, Choron Ka Raja” and later “Prem”, both disasters, but he got his big hit with “Hum Aapke Dil Me Rehte Hain” and also “Tere Sang”, among many others.

Mumbai, April 18: Actor Anil Kapoor, who shot a sequence at Dhobi Ghat here for "Shootout At Wadala", says it is one of the best sequences of his career spanning over three decades.

"It's an extraordinary sequence. Everything in it is wonderful. I feel it would be considered one of the best sequences of my career shot by any director," said the 53-year-old actor, known for doing daring action stunts in films like "Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja".
