John Waters and Glenn Robbins were considered for the role of Ben Bell which in the end was cast with actor Geoff Morrell.
The movie's source stage play of the same ''No Worries'' name by by source playwright and the film's screenwriter David Holman was first performed on 6th March 1984 at Theatre 62 in Hilton, South Australia as part of that year's Adelaide Festival of Arts.
The picture in 1994 at the Berlin Children's Film Festival in Germany won the Crystal Bear Award for Best Children's Feature Film. Some press advertisements ran with the slogan: "First Prize Berlin 1994 Best Children's Film".
The film's closing credits declare that this production was: ''Filmed on Location in the Gilgandra Shire & Sydney NSW, Australia''.
