- TriviaRichard Crenna asked Sylvester Stallone how he would feel if Crenna took a part in a spoof of the Rambo films. Stallone was all for it.
- GoofsDuring the presidential groundbreaking ceremony, all presidents but President Ford get hit by Benson's shovel. Despite being uninjured, he also collapses to the ground. This probably is not an error, but a reference to Gerald Ford's history of accidental falls during his presidency, especially as the actor playing him says "Whoops!" immediately before falling over.
- Quotes
Saddam Hussein: Now I will kill you until you die from it!
- Crazy creditsFUN FACT: Actor Richard Crenna invented tartar sauce.
- Alternate versionsThe film has had a checkered UK censorship history. For its original cinema release, 54 secs were cut for a 12 certificate, removing all footage of nunchakus during the Rambo scene and editing the spoof Basic Instinct (1992) sex scene in the apartment. The video was rated PG and the cuts were expanded with a further 1 min 7 secs of additional edits to remove a single use of 'fuck' and the complete removal of the bedroom scene. The same print was used as a basis for the PG-rated DVD, although the distributors made a further two minutes of edits including the removal of Ramada's line "Wild, free, passionate, unbridled sex. I'd fondle you in ways you can't imagine" and even the already PG approved scene in the limousine. The UK Blu-ray version reinstates the previously cut footage and was passed 12 uncut in 2013.

¨Rambo¨ spoof that has lots of clever and funny sight gags
This is a sequel to ¨Hot shots¨ (1991) , Top Gun spoof , this ¨Hot Shots! Part Deux¨(1993) doesn't live up to the first , but it's not bad either ; it boasts a good cast , such as : Charlie Sheen , Valeria Golino , Lloyd Bridges , Richard Crenna , Rowan Atkinson , Miguel Ferrer , among others . Another outing from ¨Naked Gun¨team of the master movie parodists : Jim Abrahams , Jerry Zucker and Pat Proft . Wacky and surrealist comedy with uncountable gags and well starred by Charlie Sheen who gives a sympathetic acting as hunk ace Topper Harley who's assigned to rescue Colonel Denton : Richard Crenna . A classic of the spoof genre, it is a likably silly comedy from the writing-directing team that brought other big hits , and still one of the funniest movies ever made . From the makers of the original "Airplane!" (not the Wright brothers) . In a covert government mission to rescue hostages from Operation Desert Storm, a group of U. S. soldiers fail to assassinate Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein (Jerry Haleva) and are captured by Iraqi forces . Because the mission has failed twice before, the absent-minded former U. S. Navy Admiral Thomas "Tug" Benson (Lloyd Bridges), who was surprisingly elected President of the United States, suspects the commando is being sabotaged and decides to send retired Navy war hero Lieutenant Sean "Topper" Harley (Charlie Sheen) to intervene . Presidential Military Advisor Colonel Denton Walters (Richard Crenna) and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) sexy agent Michelle Rodham Huddleston (Brenda Bakke) locate pumped-out Topper in Thailand, fighting as a boxer and practicing Buddhism . He refuses to help rescue the imprisoned soldiers , still troubled by the abandonment of his lover , Ramada Rodham Hayman (Valeria Golino). Then love interest Ramada returns but this time she's competing with a beatiful agent . Just Deux it !. The mother of all sequels !. Grab your guns! It's Hot Shots Part Deux! The mother of all movies! . There's something funny in the air !. Unprecendented! Uncut! Under 10 dollar Movie? What movie?. Shhh! Don't tell anyone.
Nutty and absurd comedy with numberless gags by the makers of Airplane . This picture makes up for its flimsy plot with one gag after another . Written/directed by Jim Abrahams , Pat Proft and David Zucker (ZAZ) , they are American satirists and writers with successful works along and long time collaborators among them , they made their own comedy troupe , ¨Kentucky Fried theatre¨. Spoofs ¨Rambo¨ with a lot of verbal humor and similar gung-ho adventures , but doesn't forget other popular films including : ¨First Blood¨, ¨Rambo¨, ¨Rambo III¨,¨Apocalypse Now¨, ¨The Goldfather¨, ¨Sea Hunt¨, among others . This one remains commercially as one of their exceptional hit smashes with the exception for ¨Airport!¨ , ¨Top Secret¨and ¨Jerry Zucker's Ghost¨. In the film appears the habitual quirky and lunatic roles usually played by notorious actors , such as : Valeria Golino , Lloyd Bridges, Miguel Ferrer , Rowan Atkinson, David Wohl, Mitchell Ryan , and Richard Crenna spoofs his character in the Rambo films as Sheen's mentor and look for real-life dad Martin Sheen in a take-off of Apocalypse Now and Lloyd Bridges getting a chance to reprise his glory days of Sea Hunt .
The film was realized by the Kentucky group , the ironic humor is originated in the American surrealist comedy whose origin is developed since ¨Hellzapoppin¨ (by H. C. Potter) , Marx Brothers and W. C. Fields , and being based on the absurd , the lunatic and wacky happenings , and , of course , the extreme parody or spoof movie . The picture is naughty at times , but it's also intelligent and audacious . There's one comic gag each ten seconds . Rated ¨Parents Guide¨ for some profanity and sexually oriented sketches . An unsothisphicated but very amusing film that will appeal to absurd lovers and including several cinematic references . Rating : 6.5/10. Well worth watching . Great when you are in the mood for laughs that don't require thought . This is a wonderful timeless spoof that will appeal to wild and unruly humor fans . And don't miss the credits .
