One of the many movies inspired by Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall starer 'Coming To America'. The other films were Prem Yog and Daulat Ki Duniya (Dubbed).
After about 10 years actor Asrani returned to direction with this film and dint act in the film. The next film which he made was Udaan and it was the last film Asrani directed.
Jackie Shroff was a part of a major controversy during the making of the film. The producer , Samir and Hanif requested Jackie to the attend the wedding of underworld gang member Tiger Memom's daughter's wedding. Jackie's picture was clicked with Memom and splashed all over in magazines. Shroff explained he only went because he was requested to attend by Samir and Hanif.
Jackie was having date problems causing delays in the film. The producers wanted to call their friend Dawood Ibrahim in Dubai to threaten Jackie and make him shoot immediately .The problem was Dawood was friends with Jackie from his teen batti days and would not ever do that.
