- [Barry and Howard watch Lisa across the lunchroom after Barry's first disastrous attempt to meet her]
- Barry Thomas: So, uh, she likes me. A lot. Wouldn't you agree?
- Howard Richter: Yeah. I'd say, like, you and a vicious ice cream headache are probably neck and neck.
- Barry Thomas: Do I always sound like such an idiot or, or do I just save it for the people I really want to impress?
- [Barry answers the phone in the midst of reading his notes about the forthcoming day's presumed events]
- Barry Thomas: Mom, I'll call you back. The day's repeating.
- [Lisa and Barry are just meeting, and he is badly fumbling the conversation]
- Lisa Fredericks: [amused] Where are you usually locked up?
- Barry Thomas: Oh, I'm just an experiment gone horribly awry in the Personnel Department.
- Lisa Fredericks: I see. I'm Lisa Fredericks.
- Barry Thomas: I'm Barry Thomas.
- Lisa Fredericks: [not sure how to take him] What is it that you do?
- Barry Thomas: Oh, nothing. I just sort of boost morale in between threats of being fired.
- Lisa Fredericks: Ah. Well, you seem to have a mind. That doesn't usually fit in this system. Nice to meet you.
- [She turns away dismissively]
- [waking on the "second" morning, Barry realizes that his potted geranium, which he had drunkenly broken the night before, is now intact again]
- Barry Thomas: *One* of us fell down last night.
- [Howard enters Barry's cubicle after Barry's second disastrous attempt to chat up Lisa]
- Howard Richter: How'd it go?
- Barry Thomas: Oh, good, good, thanks. I'll be alone for the rest of my life, but good.
- [Barry encounters Lisa in the food line again on the "second" day]
- Barry Thomas: I'm sorry about the way that I came at you this morning. It must have been a bit of a shock, huh?
- Lisa Fredericks: [chilly] Are you assuming this morning's encounter has made us friends and we're now going to have a conversation?
- Barry Thomas: No! No, no, no, no, no, God no! That's the last thing on my mind!
- Lisa Fredericks: Good.
- [to the food server]
- Lisa Fredericks: Can I have some string beans and rice, please, Rico?
- Barry Thomas: I just hate meeting new, and interesting, and attractive people. Don't you even think of starting up a conversation with *me*! Can I please have some macaroni?
- [Barry's supervisor has just learned that he trespassed into a top-security area]
- Anne Jackson: I like you, Barry, I really do. You're fired. Give me your ID and clean out your office by the end of today.
- [he hands her his ID badge and starts to walk out, then turns back]
- Barry Thomas: You know what's funny? If today was really today, I woulda quit by now.
- [Jackson looks baffled]
- [Barry has successfully saved Lisa on the "third" day and describes how he had tried to meet and warn her]
- Lisa Fredericks: I mean, you saved my life.
- Barry Thomas: Self-interest. I, I've been watching you out of my office for such a long time. The other day, I gathered up the nerve to actually speak to you. I made a fool out of myself, but I thought, "Hey, I'll, I'll have another chance to speak to you some day, right?" But then you... well.
- Lisa Fredericks: We spoke?
- Barry Thomas: Yeah! Yeah, we did.
- Lisa Fredericks: [shy] How was I?
- Barry Thomas: You were great. You were very nice. You threw me out of your office.
- Lisa Fredericks: [she smiles and takes a step closer to him] I'm sorry. I guess I was having a bad day.
- Barry Thomas: That next morning, when I saw you alive, I realized I had a second chance. A chance to save you...
- [she steps closer and silences him with a kiss]
- [they awake in bed after having made love in front of the fire]
- Barry Thomas: You know, I'm usually not this type of guy.
- Lisa Fredericks: I'm supposed to say that. What time is it?
- Barry Thomas: Oh my God. It's 12:00.
- Lisa Fredericks: No! We've got to do something!
- Barry Thomas: There's no time. Quick, tell me what your favorite color is.
- Lisa Fredericks: What?
- Lisa Fredericks: Just, what's your favorite color?
- Lisa Fredericks: Green.
- Barry Thomas: [with increasing urgency] Ah, your favorite food!
- Lisa Fredericks: Smoked oysters.
- Barry Thomas: Your favorite number.
- Lisa Fredericks: [laughs] 37-point-1.
- Barry Thomas: Your favorite music!
- Lisa Fredericks: Oh, that's hard to answer...
- Barry Thomas: No, come on, just tell me!
- Lisa Fredericks: I'm embarrassed...
- Barry Thomas: What is it?
- Lisa Fredericks: The Carpenters.
- Barry Thomas: The Carpenters. You gotta be kidding. Lisa, I love you.
- [as Barry reaches his office cubicle on the "fourth" morning, his supervisor comes over to deliver her usual tirade, which this time he cuts off]
- Anne Jackson: Well, look who decided to show up.
- Barry Thomas: Oh, Anne, don't get your panties in a bunch. If you just left us alone, the work could get done. But no, you're so damn invasive that no one can concentrate around here. So just stop assuming that we're all idiots, and don't you judge people by how cute they are!
- [Anne Jackson is taken aback. Howard raises his head high enough over the cubicle wall that we can see by his expression that he's impressed]
- Anne Jackson: Well. This is what I get for covering you for all these years.
- Barry Thomas: [with an evil whisper] Thank you.
- Anne Jackson: Well, it might be time to take a look into your performance record!
- Barry Thomas: [with an evil grin] You do that.
- Anne Jackson: [tears developing in her eyes and voice] Well, nice knowing you, Barry.
- [she walks away, and Howard raises his head again to show an expression of awe at Barry's out-of-character chutzpah]
- [on the "fourth" day, Barry is still trying to prove to Lisa that he knows about the time-loop Bounce. Barry takes Lisa's arm and points across the department to the hallway where Denk is entering, and again directs her attention to his time-line notes]
- Barry Thomas: Look. Over there. See that? He's, he's about to light his cigarette. He's met you in the hallway these past few mornings, but today he can't, because you're here with me. What we have to do is keep Denk from finding out about the computer disk. So, today, I'll take all the information, all right?
- Lisa Fredericks: [whispering] I can't just accept this.
- Barry Thomas: [taking her arms, making her look at his honest expression] The epitaph on your canary's grave you made when you were nine years old was on a paper plate, and it said: Fly to Heaven.
- [she looks at him with deep uncertainty]
- Barry Thomas: You know, we had a lot more fun last night.
- Lisa Fredericks: [amused] We did?
- Barry Thomas: Yeah, we took a walk in the woods, and we sat by a fire...
- Lisa Fredericks: We sat by a fire?
- Barry Thomas: Yeah.
- Lisa Fredericks: Are you saying that you, that we, I mean - Did you get lucky?
- [His smile fades as she stares at him]
- Lisa Fredericks: Oh my God. You got lucky!
- Barry Thomas: You got lucky, too!
- [Barry, Lisa and Howard are accosted by two men with guns]
- Barry Thomas: [to Lisa] These are the guys that've been killing you.
- [Lisa and Barry hide from the gunmen after one of them shot Howard]
- Lisa Fredericks: I'm sorry about your friend, Barry. I know you cared about him.
- Barry Thomas: That's funny. He said the same thing to me when you were killed.
- [Lisa enters her office to find Denk and Barry, whom she does not recognize, waiting for her]
- Barry Thomas: The Time Bounce has happened.
- Lisa Fredericks: [glances unbelievingly at Denk] Excuse me?
- Barry Thomas: The Time Bounce. We're in it. The Earth has stopped as we know it. Children don't grow up. People don't stay dead. We'll never have another holiday, and you'll never see another flower bloom.
- Lisa Fredericks: What are you talking about?
- Barry Thomas: And I've fallen in love with a beautiful young lady, and so far I could only see her for a few hours. And it breaks my heart to meet her every morning, a stranger. You see, I want her every day. I want her to grow old with me. That's why life is so precious: because time passes.
- Lisa Fredericks: Who is this... Who is this girl?
- [Barry steps closer to her with each following comment]
- Barry Thomas: 37-point-1. Oysters. Green. The Carpenters. Fly to Heaven.
- [she gazes at him in wonder]
- [Barry strides over to Howard and hugs him]
- Barry Thomas: Heyyyy, Howard, you're alive!
- Howard Richter: What are you talking about, man? I wasn't in the bathroom that long, was I?
- [last lines]
- Barry Thomas: We'll never know what'll happen next.
- Lisa Fredericks: [smiling] I know what'll happen next.
- Barry Thomas: You do?
- [she kisses him passionately]
- Lisa Fredericks: Um, I dont know whats happened those other days, but I think we have to take it a little slower this time, okay?
- Barry Thomas: It's too late for that... I died for you already.
