According to "The Sci-Fi Channel Encyclopedia of TV Science Fiction" by Roger Fulton & John Betancourt, only six episodes were made. The series was cancelled after one episode was shown on network TV. They said only four of the six episodes were ever shown in the U.S.A., although all six were shown overseas.
Marjorie Monaghan, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa and Claudia Christian all later appeared in Babylon 5 (1993), another sci-fi series that features characters known as Rangers.
Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa had previously starred opposite Marjorie Monaghan in "Nemesis" (1992).
Marjorie Monaghan came onto "Space Rangers" (1993) after completing work on the science fiction action film "Nemesis" (1992).
