I would have to agree. Dairanger was in my opinion, THE best Sentai series of the 90s if not of all time. It had the best costume designs, best plot, best characters, best action, best everything. And the soundtrack is amazing. I still listen to it to this day. Even though the actors in any Sentai series are suppose to overact for the sake of the child audience, I can be comfortable watching Dairanger and I'm a grown adult. The genre is not too childish nor too mature. I think they nailed it on the dot. The storyline is amazing and almost every episode has a twist to the plot. There are only a handful of episodes in the entire series with a generic MOTD (monster of the day). The character development for each of the rangers was well done. From the beginning episode, you learn about each character's style, personality, dreams and aspirations. What I really liked about Dairanger was how each of the characters had their own lives outside of saving the world. Like Ryo, the red ranger, worked hard everyday at a restaurant to be the best gyoza chef in Japan on top of everything else. Also, the side characters and villains were in my opinion, even more interesting than the main characters. Like Jin, the gentleman assassin. Each ranger had their own quarrels with somebody throughout the whole series which is what made it great. Honestly, Sentai is just not the same as it used to be. It was only a few years after Dairanger that I began to lose interest in Sentai. Dairanger was one of the greats of the old Sentai era. Dairanger just has so much more to offer than any of the other Sentai. I almost want to spoil the storyline for you since I liked it so much, but I won't since I'm nice. If you haven't seen it, go watch it. You will not be disappointed.
